About Me:

I have always had a great interest in fitness and have competed and performed nationally in many sports including Judo, Sailing, Rowing, Dance and Weightlifting. In 2005 I suffered an Lx spinal and hip injury, leaving me temporarily paralysed from the waist down, years of treatment and rehabilitation followed, and after recovering I wanted to challenge myself further. I now compete nationally in Dance and Weightlifting and have hopefully shown that you can do anything by having the right mind set and determination.

I am a REPS Level 7 Personal Trainer, Level 1 Nutritionist via Precision Nutrition. Sport Therapist and Rehabilitee via Degree and Masters, BSc (Hons), MSc, Dhip. Level 2 STA Swimming Coach. I have over 10 years’ experience and also help mentor other fitness professionals and enthusiast across the UK. I specialise in;

If you could recommend doing one thing per day to keep you healthy & happy, what would it be?

I would recommend to stretch one body part per day, creating space in-between your joints to give better performance with great preparation and cool downs after workouts. You will also find this will improve your posture and lifestyle performance.

What keeps you motivated?

The fear of becoming ordinary.

Top training tip?

Posture is really key in training. Being mindful of your posture makes your workouts more intense with better technique. Focusing harder on the muscle you are training.

Favourite all time recipe

Butternut squash lasagne (Prep time: 15 minutes).

Butternut squash sheets x1 packet.

1 teaspoon olive oil.

2 chopped onion.

750kg 2% turkey mince.

50g diced mushrooms.

1/4 teaspoon black pepper.

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.

200g chopped spinach.

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.

2 containers tomato and basil sauce (reduced sugar).

Low fat cheese 100g grated.

Heat in the oven 35-40mins at 190 degrees. Serve with a side of mixed salad

Who inspires you?

Paralympic athletes, Special Forces and people from difficult and challenging backgrounds achieving inspirational goals.

Who do you train with?

I enjoy training on my own and use it as my time out. I enjoy listening to music, building my confidence and timing my rest periods accordingly.

What song/music/band most motivates you?

Chase & Status ft. Plan B. end credits this is one of my favourite motivational songs. It has a deep meaning to me and creates focus within my workout even at difficult times.

What are you most proud of?

I am the first family member to have a degree but also a Masters. I am also really proud of the reputation I have grown within the fitness sector.

What’s your favourite way to chill out?

When I want to chill out, I simply turn my phone off so I’m not distracted by social media notifications, emails, text and calls etc. so that way I have a bit of time and space to reflect on what’s really important to me.

Your favourite gadget?

I love my Fitbit fitness tracker watch, to record my heart rate, steps and sleep patterns.
