By LOUISE SAUNDERS She was being put through her paces in a gruelling boot camp training session.  But Roxanne Pallett looked more suited to a night out with the cast of Fame as she worked up a sweat in a brightly-coloured, 80s-inspired ensemble.  Undergoing a tough session in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, the 30-year-old actress seemed to have channelled the 'workout Barbie' look for her day of exercise.

The former Emmerdale star teamed her bizarre leg-wear with a pair of bright aqua hotpants, which showed off her toned and tanned pins to perfection.  Roxanne completed her workout look with a hot pink T-shirt bearing the logo of the No.1 Boot Camp as she was put through her paces by celebrity fitness instructor and ex-special forces soldier Lee Andrew.

Wearing blue and pink trainers, the brunette starlet wore her long straight locks pulled back off her face into a high ponytail as she worked up a sweat in the military-inspired session.  But in spite of the strenuous physical activity on offer, the glamorous starlet still rocked a full face of make-up, complete with heavy mascara and eyeliner.  Working out at an outdoor gym, Roxanne looked utterly determined as she performed a series of strenuous exercises. Swinging through hoops, climbing walls and working out a series of tricky manouevres, the diminutive beauty proved she is very much the action girl.  Perhaps one of the reasons Roxanne is keen to work on her already great figure is because she has just bagged a new man in the form of her Rocky Horror Show co-star, Harry Neale.  The pair made their public debut as a couple late last month when they stepped out in Sheffield together, putting on an amorous display as they smooched up a storm while buying ice creams.

Roxanne has recently dropped an impressive 15 pounds through diet and exercise, using FORZA Raspberry Ketone tablets switching to healthy alternatives of her favourite foods and rehearsing for up to eight hours a day for the touring theatre production. And the actress admitted part of her motivation in terms of toning up was down to the fact that she was appearing on stage in skimpy outfits night after night.  She told OK! magazine: 'If you put on a few pounds and you’re not doing a job in the public eye, it’s okay because when you’re in the office you can hide under clothes or if you’re at home you can hide behind your onesie.

'So during the rehearsal period for Rocky Horror, I realised I needed to feel confident with my body to play that role with conviction because the audience can see if you’re not comfortable. 'When you're on television, or film, or on stage, you can't hide – you have to be in the costume of that character and most of the time it’s sexy or revealing. You have to be confident.' In spite of Roxanne's clean lifestyle, she was recently rushed to hospital in Cambridge when she was struck down with a kidney infection. A source told The Sun: 'She was on the way to the theatre. It’s a severe kidney infection. She’s very clean-living. She doesn’t drink or smoke and looks after herself, although she is a workaholic.' Read more:
