Ray Quinn saved his best for last as he topped the leaderboard with a maximum score to become the ultimate winner of ITV’s prime time talent show Dancing on Ice. The actor and musician, who made a name for himself on The X Factor, stole the show with a hat-trick of perfect routines that gained him a whopping 80 points.
Ray, who won the Dancing on Ice crown in 2009, was back on the show for a second attempt to win the coveted winner's trophy with his with professional partner Maria Filippov. And stunning rendition of the Bolero saw the Liverpudlian star marching to victory over rivals Beth Tweddle and Hayley Tamaddon. Ray was crowned the overall winner by Olympic medallists Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, before declaring: “I’m buzzing”. His win proved that the bookmakers were correct in making him the odds-on favourite to win the competition. A spokesperson for Paddy Power, who had priced him at 1/4 to take the final trophy, said: “The writing has been on the wall for the Ray Quinn win since the very beginning.” Judge Jason Gardner summed up Ray’s success by saying: “Some people are talented, other people are stars. Ray, you’re a star.”
And winner Ray, 25, has every reason to celebrate after revealing that he lost two stone in order to take part in the show. The West End star swapped Chinese takeaways and cans of lager for healthy eating, regular gym sessions and FORZA diet supplements - and the results are outstanding.
