This week I have been out of the office and on the road. Having signed up some great new trading partners and secured some new international propositions, I was feeling very energetic about the week in hand.
I found myself in Brussels on Tuesday at the Labelexpo Europe 2013. In addition to being keen to explore new technologies, FORZA Brand Manager Nigel Davison was keen to learn more about the printing equipment that we currently use so that we can start pushing the machines to their absolute limits. Designers generally design around a specific look, but Nigel has learnt over the years to not just think about aesthetics but also about technology, texture and sensation. Having found some inspiration through new techniques, Nigel plans to introduce big additions to our designs for 2014.
On Wednesday it was a trip to Birmingham for Fitness Industry Week at the National Exhibition Centre. Here some of the UK’s fittest people converge to understand and learn more about fitness equipment, gym management systems and personal training courses. As a manufacturer of supplements, we find that industries often cross over and it is great to research neighbouring sectors to ensure that our products fit their needs. This Thursday I was privileged to attend The Prince’s Trust celebration of young ambassadors at the prestigious offices of J.P. Morgan at Canary Wharf. The merchant bank does a great job of sponsoring The Prince’s Trust and many young people have been helped and inspired by the hard work of its ambassadors. The Wharf is always a great place to be on a nice evening and, with the warm air and drinks flowing, a late night was unavoidable.
We also hosted the second of our design winners, Soraya Veale. Soraya is a very talented and bright young lady with a great future ahead of her. In her time at the FORZA Technology Centre, she was able to demonstrate a high level of skill and develop some great branding techniques. We wish her all the best for the future.
